Hello!

It is time for our annual APhA-ASP Local Patient Counseling Competition! If you were wondering, Dr. McGivney was a winner at the 1997 National Competition, and Dr. Lyons was a winner at the 2013 National Competition! The Patient Counseling Competition involves counseling patients on the safe and effective use of a medication, and the participants will be evaluated on their communication skills and the content of the information provided. Please see the attached document for additional information about the competition and some resources that may help you prepare for the competition.

The local competition will be held on January 30th from 5-7pm in room 523. The winner of our local competition will go onto the National Competition in Seattle, WA, which will be held during the APhA Annual Meeting & Exposition (March 21-25, 2019). The winner will receive maximum reimbursement for their trip to Seattle! Additionally, the top ten finalists from our local competition will be awarded prizes (compliments of APhA-ASP and CVS Health).
