Hello P1s, P2s, P3s, and P4s,

Some key updates for you related to experiential learning:

1) Reporting intern hours:

Although Pennsylvania (PA) has temporarily waived the hours reporting requirements until Jan 2020, this is not a permanent waiver, and not all states in the US have waived this. To be sure you have proper documentation of internship hours worked for your eventual pharmacist licensure, please make sure you have a pharmacist preceptor registered with you for your work internship (PA, or your home state), and send those hours into the PA State Board (or your home state board) regularly. We recommend that you do this at the end of each summer. If you need to change/add on a work preceptor, and/or report your intern hours, a “how to” guide has been created to step you through the PA process, called “FAQ for Pharmacy Intern Hours Reporting and Adding/Changing Preceptors.” It is posted to the Home Page of eValue, under Forms and Reference Tools on the right-hand side.

2) Notary:

If you have a document that needs to be notarized, Marcia Borrelli in the Student Services Office (229 Salk) is an approved Notary Public. If you need her to notarize a document, please email her to set up an appointment (borrelli at pitt.edu<mailto:borrelli at pitt.edu>).

3) Tuberculin (TB) skin testing:

If you need to have your TB skin test read, Dr. Maggie Folan (also a nurse) is trained to read results. She has offered to help. If you need to have your test read, email Dr. Folan to set up an appointment (folanm at pitt.edu<mailto:folanm at pitt.edu>), and bring along the proper form for her signature. Her office is 250 Salk Hall.

Thank you,

Prof. Skledar
