Action Needed on House Bill 941 and House Bill 770

Status Update:  We know we sent out a call to action for these issues this past week.  However, the House returned to only a non-voting session days this week - so action has been postponed until this coming week.  These bills will be voted on sometime next week or will "die."

Both bills are in the absolute final stages, having passed the House, been amended in the Senate and are now back in the House for concurrence on the amended change.

Both are good for community pharmacy as well as advancing the whole pharmacy profession.

This is a good place to be if we can get them both voted on!

As of now the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has Monday through Thursday of next week (November 16 - 19) scheduled on their calendar.  So it is next week or not this year.

WHAT WE NEED ALL PHARMACISTS TO DO:


1. Contact your Representative and ask them to vote on and support these two bills! That is your simple ask: I need you to support both these bills! They will help your constituents, my patients!

2. Your best form of contact would be a phone call on Monday, November 16  in the morning. Failing that your second best form of contact is sending an email anytime before then.

OPPOSITION:


Do not bring this up unless asked but please know that on HB 770, a few physician groups have opposed this as well as some insurers. Their concerns are not valid and they do not have data to prove their statements.  Be familiar with the talking points so you an counter any questions if they raise them.

We do not believe there is any active opposition to HB 941.

But in both cases, members of the House need to hear from you that these bills are important to you and your constituents and need to be passed.
