Hello Everyone,

First and foremost, we would like to wish you and your families well and to let you know that you are in our thoughts during these difficult times. COVID-19 has changed our lives, our environment, and our working style in many different ways. However, there are still researchers in our community forging new roles to fight the pandemic, and pharmacists keep working in front-line roles as part of the essential personnel. Thank you, everyone, for your great support to our community and putting a roof for our daily life as well as our working environment!

Under this circumstance, AAPS Pitt Student Chapter continues to host the seminar series and is committed to strengthening our unity. Consideration for everyone’s health and wellbeing is foremost in our minds. For this reason, and considering the current conditions, our team would like to host a virtual meeting. This time, PITT-AAPS are very honored to have Dr. Meir Glick, Director, Informatics, Chemistry at Merck Research Laboratories sharing his researches on Hope is not a plan: strategic application of chemical biology informatics to enable phenotypic screening and target identification. Please join us on June 4th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM via Zoom Meeting: https://pitt.zoom.us/j/99394382871. This meeting will last for one hour, including 45 mins seminar and 15 mins Q&A section. This is definitely an fantastic opportunity for you to know more about Merck and build your connection!

Dr. Glick is the Director of Informatics, where he is responsible for the vision, strategy and delivery for a world class Informatics group that influences Merck Research Laboratories. Dr. Glick is interested in transforming the organization from data creators into decision makers - for example by integration of screening and informatics. Before joining Merck in 2015 Dr. Glick was the head of the in silico Lead Discovery at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Cambridge, MA where he worked since 2003. Prior to 2003, he was a trained as a postdoc in computational chemistry in the University of Oxford. He received his PhD in computational chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dr. Glick is the author of over 100 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals, patents and book chapters. Please see:
