Hello all-

I wanted to make sure you are aware of a new service offered though Pitt that can assist you to have strong passwords and keep your accounts safe.

I know for me, it is really hard to keep track of passwords, and sometimes it seems easier to use bad passwords because it is just too complicated to use strong and unique passwords everywhere. But we place our accounts in peril of being hacked if we aren’t on top of this type of security. Pitt’s new service is a tool that can help you in big ways, and if you are like me, and have trouble with passwords, please check it out. This is a Pitt technology project, so you can contact the Pitt Help Desk for assistance.

Expert Partners:

Pitt Information Technology is pleased to announce that Pitt Password Manager (LastPass)<https://www.technology.pitt.edu/services/pitt-password-manager-lastpass> is now available to all University students, faculty, and staff.

Pitt Password Manager saves users’ passwords in a secure vault, accessible from any device using a single, strong master password. Pitt Password Manager can also autofill login information, help create stronger passwords, and securely store other important information.

Students, faculty, and staff can enroll in an Enterprise account, create a Premium account, or both.

  * Enterprise accounts are recommended for storing and sharing University-related passwords and information.
  * Premium accounts are recommended for storing personal passwords and information. Users can link their Premium account to an Enterprise account and manage all of their passwords from one convenient interface.

As an added benefit, if your department shares resources (for example, if multiple staff members log in to a shared server), you can use a Pitt Password Manager Enterprise account to securely share login credentials for those resources.
