[Rx2021] SCCP: 2019 Clinical Research Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

The Student Clinical College of Pharmacy (SCCP) will be hosting their annual Clinical Research Challenge in just under two weeks! The Clinical Research Challenge (CRC) is a national team-based competition that offers teams of three pharmacy students to participate in an online journal club, and the opportunity to submit a letter of intent and a clinical research proposal.

The CRC is a novel competition that is geared towards P1 and P2 students. For people interested on clinical pharmacy, critically evaluating and applying primary literature is an essential skill. Research and scholarship contributes to improved health outcomes for patients and advancements in the profession of clinical pharmacy. Only P1 and P2 students are eligible to compete in teams against other schools and colleges of pharmacy nationwide. Students are not required to be members of ACCP (or SCCP) to participate.

Before the online portion begins, we will be hosting our own local CRC on Monday, January 28th, 2019 from 5 to 7 PM in 402 Salk Hall! Food will be provided for participants that evening. Teams will be competing amongst each other to represent PittPharmacy at the regional and potentially national level. Winners of the local competition will continue on to the national competition to compete for a cash prize, free registration, and/or the opportunity to present a poster at the 2019 ACCP Annual Meeting in New York, NY.
