[Rx2021] PPA Ambassador Interviews

Hello members and future members of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association,


PPA will be holding interviews for our 2018-2019 executive board in the coming weeks. If you’re interested in joining the PPA team please consider applying using the form at the bottom of this email. Below are some short descriptions of the positions available for the next school year as told by the current ambassador.



Membership ambassador - As membership ambassador, you are primarily responsible for both promoting new membership and maintaining current membership within the Pitt chapter. It is important that you have both passion and enthusiasm for PPA in order to encourage engagement from all members in regards to attendance of general body meetings, conferences, legislative day, and other PPA-related events throughout the year. Tasks include organizing the PPA table at the back-to-school picnic, emailing members on expiring memberships, and participating in conference calls with other membership ambassadors at other Pennsylvania schools of pharmacy. Current Ambassador: Ashley Blazewick (ashleyblazewick at pitt.edu<mailto:ashleyblazewick at pitt.edu>)


Communications Ambassador:
Current P1s and P2s are encouraged to interview for this position.
Job duties: updating the Facebook page, writing articles for the Pennsylvania Pharmacist Magazine and the Pitt Capsule, and organizing Dean’s Theme project. You will also attend ambassador meetings at the Annual and Midyear Conferences, and have bimonthly conference calls with the other schools’ ambassadors.
Current Ambassador: Kelly Jenniches (kaj60 at pitt.edu<mailto:kaj60 at pitt.edu>)


Katie's Kids Ambassador: Current P1s and P2's are encouraged to interview for this position. Job Duties: advocating for pharmacy amongst young children, educating children on the difference between candy and medicine, coming up with creative ways to interact with children in order to push education and the profession of pharmacy. Government Relations Ambassador: Only current P2s are eligible to interview for this position.Job duties: work with the President-Elect and Government Relations Manager to organize and execute Legislative Day, promote Political Action Committee (PAC) awareness and the 1878 Society, and lead school Pennsylvania advocacy efforts by encouraging students to respond to Calls to Action and informing students on the status of priority issues. You will also attend Student Advisory Board meetings at the Annual and Mid-year Conferences and have monthly-bimonthly conference calls with the Government Relations Manager and other schools' ambassadors.
