Hello everyone!



First, welcome back to school and congratulations on surviving the first week of classes!  Thank you to all who were able to attend SSHP’s First General Body Meeting this past Thursday.  For those who were unable to attend, attached are the PowerPoint slides to review at your leisure.



A few events to keep on your radar in the upcoming weeks:



Back to School Picnic: September 4 Vietnam Veteran’s Pavilion @ 6:30-9p

Come on out and learn about all the different organizations with the School of Pharmacy!  This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow classmates and see how you can get involved on various levels.  Plus, food and drink will be provided and who doesn’t love free food?



Residency 101: September 13 Room 402 @ noon

The term “residency” has been thrown around a lot and many are unsure what a residency specifically entails.  This event will provide the opportunity to learn the general concept of what a PGY1 and PGY2 residency look like, in addition to any questions you may have.  Lookout for an additional email to be sent in the future with more details.



ASHP Midyear Intro Meeting: September 19 Room 501 @ noon

Midyear this year is December 2-6 in Anaheim, California. Those considering going to Midyear this year, please attend this meeting to ensure you have all information necessary regarding the conference.



Professional Project GBM: September 26 Room 402 @ noon

Currently, we have six professional projects: Poison Prevention, Contraception, Men’s Health, Mercy Behavioral Health/ Psychiatric Support Project, Antimicrobial Stewardship, C.O.R.E. Organ Donation.  Please attend this meeting to learn how to further get involved in each project.



Membership forms are due Monday September 17th and can be returned to myself or any other E-board member in your respective class.  There is also a box placed in Student Services on the 2nd floor (old PCLC) where forms may be dropped off.  The membership form may be found using the following link:
