Please join us for naloxone training/information session tomorrow, September 28, in room 402 at noon. The session will now be presented by Alice Bell from Prevention Point Pittsburgh!


Prevention Point Pittsburgh is the only harm reduction based needle exchange in Southwestern PA. In addition to providing needle exchange services, testing for HIV and hepatitis C, case worker services, and wound care, they also provide free naloxone and are extremely knowledgeable in naloxone administration and services - they have a really unique perspective on the opioid epidemic, so come ready with questions!

Topics include: Scope of the epidemic nationally and locally, legislation and policy at the federal, state, and local levels, the evolution of the standing order, narcan/naloxone formulations and how to use them, and patient counseling tips.

The presentation will be highly interactive and open to questions throughout!
