[Rx2021] ASCP Guest Speaker

Hi everyone!


ASCP will be welcoming our next guest speaker on Tuesday, November 7, from 12-1pm in room 402! We are excited to have Sydney Springer, PharmD, BCPS, a Research Fellow at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare Systems, come talk about her work as their Medication Safety and Pharmacy Outcomes Fellow. She received her PharmD from the University of Rhode Island, then completed her PGY1 residency program and PGY2 geriatric residency at UPMC St. Margaret. Currently she is working on creating a geriatric consult service through their primary care group, and spends much of her time doing research focused primarily on geriatrics. She is excited for the opportunity to discuss the benefits of geriatric pharmacy research, as this may be an  area of interest for many students, especially those interested in geriatrics or pursuing a research fellowship.This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the VA Hospitals, including the special benefits that accompany a government job and the unique  roles pharmacists have there. She is eager to discuss any questions you have about working for the VA as a pharmacist, as this is definitely an area of unique opportunity for pharmacist to collaborate with other healthcare providers. Please consider taking some time out of your busy pharmacy schedule to be a part of this unique learning opportunity!
