[PERIS-Listserv] Reminder: How to Conduct an Advanced Search to Find a Sponsor in MyFunding

Due to an increase in requests to add sponsors that are already listed in MyFunding, this is a reminder to thoroughly search for existing sponsors before submitting a new sponsor request.

Given the large number of sponsors maintained within MyFunding, a basic search may not always return comprehensive results. In such cases, users are strongly encouraged to utilize the advanced search functionality to ensure the sponsor does not already exist in the system.
To conduct an advanced search when developing a funding proposal, click on the box with the three ellipses (Figure 1).  A new window will open where you can search for the Sponsor’s official name, for example, National Institutes of Health and not NIH (Figure 2). To further narrow your search, use the ‘%’ sign as the 'wildcard', for example: %National (Figure 3).  Once the appropriate sponsor has been located, select the sponsor and click ‘OK’ to save (Figure 4).
If the sponsor is not listed, enter the sponsor name into the box as show below (Figure 5), and fill out the New Sponsor Request Form<https://pitt.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8oInIYoJSEXizf8> to have the sponsor added to MyFunding.
