ASEEES2021 Annual Convention Schedule Announced

The IN-PERSON Convention will take place at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside on November 18 – 21, 2021.

The Virtual Convention will take place online on December 2 – 3, 2021.

2021 ASEEES Board Election Candidates Announced
We are pleased to announce the slate of candidates for the 2021 election for positions on the ASEEES Board of Directors. This year, there are four seats up for election: the President-Elect/Vice President and two Members-at-Large serving three-year terms from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2024; and the Graduate Student Representative, serving a two-year term from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2023.
The candidates for President-Elect/Vice President are: Juliet Johnson (McGill University, Canada) and Douglas Rogers (Yale University).
The candidates for Members-at-Large are: Andy Janco (Haverford College); Rūstis Kamuntavičius (Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania), David Siroky (Arizona State University), and Kimberly Zarecor (Iowa State University).
The candidates for the Graduate Student Representative are: Zachary Hicks (UC Berkeley) and Jeffrey Yelverton (U of Minnesota).

Webinar: The Blavatnik Archive Practical Applications of Digital Archival Collections, June 17, 1:30pm EDT
The Blavatnik Archive comprises over 113,000 items that contribute to the study of modern Jewish history, with a special emphasis on World War I, World War II, and Soviet Russia. Recognizing the need for fully virtual and free access to collections, the Blavatnik Archive launched the development of blavatnikarchive.org in 2012. Currently, 12,200 items are freely available and downloadable online, including video testimonies, postcards, photographs, posters, drawings, illustrations, diaries, letters, state-issued documents, leaflets, periodicals, stamps, currency and books. Through its item-based infrastructure, many primary sources presented are fully cataloged, with descriptions, transcripts, translations, geography and subject metadata, and full and segmented video player. Users are able to curate their own content and share records or entire folders with other individuals or groups. Attendees will learn about the many discovery tools available and about the Archive’s future plans.
