Register by October 7
Please register for the convention by October 7, after which the registration rate will be higher. You must be registered in order to access the virtual platform, which will become available in late October. We also ask that you consider donating ASEEES so that we can offer more waivers to support graduate students and scholars in need to participate in the convention.

All registration and donation information can be found on the Registration page<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aseees.org%2Fconvention%2Fregistration&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ccaca59772b384835d2b008d8636bdfd7%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637368662248488119&sdata=ZIkeIvno%2FxNHzYtGeIFPBGsCDlqJyE%2BY7VQgPYDRNIc%3D&reserved=0>.

Registration Waivers

We are offering various registration waivers. We would like to point out the following in particular:

  * Waiver for scholars and students in Russia - Thanks to a grant from the Carnegie Corporation of New York, we are able to provide waivers to scholars and students in Russia. They need not be presenting in the convention to get the waiver. Please let your colleagues in Russia know of this opportunity.
  * Undergraduate student waiver - We're offering waivers to interested undergraduates to attend the virtual convention. Please let your undergraduate students know of the opportunity.

More information on waivers can be found on the Registration page<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aseees.org%2Fconvention%2Fregistration&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ccaca59772b384835d2b008d8636bdfd7%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637368662248488119&sdata=ZIkeIvno%2FxNHzYtGeIFPBGsCDlqJyE%2BY7VQgPYDRNIc%3D&reserved=0>.

Show off your talent during entertainment breaks!
Help us liven up our virtual convention by showing off your talents during breaks and possibly a talent show! You can juggle, play the guitar, sing a song, read a poem, do a short cooking demonstration, lead a group in singing folk songs, and so on. We're open to your ideas. If interested, please complete this form<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocs.google.com%2Fforms%2Fd%2Fe%2F1FAIpQLSfHCH9Ll3xihe3anZ_mcC3cbSpeLXgJLCA89kyqkssJ8rNczw%2Fviewform&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ccaca59772b384835d2b008d8636bdfd7%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637368662248498076&sdata=soJEyaVuBmABhcYwBRyx4bPlLSiMi2CpzVUp8p69pQA%3D&reserved=0>.

Advocacy Statements
We are extremely concerned that some colleges and universities are eliminating programs in Eastern European and Eurasian studies and firing faculty outside the norms of shared governance. We have issued a statement of concern<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.aseees.org%2Fadvocacy%2Fstatement-concern-regarding-firing-faculty-without-due-process-and-loss-programs&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ccaca59772b384835d2b008d8636bdfd7%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637368662248517992&sdata=v3IC1oHNbkQ2xc2ICf%2B9ivRgH6%2BmZpGppxkIRKfpUj4%3D&reserved=0> and applaud AAUP's national investigation into the crisis in academic governance that has occurred in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We also signed the ACLS statement<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wearehumanistic.org%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ccaca59772b384835d2b008d8636bdfd7%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637368662248527944&sdata=Ehu6bJjzdlq%2BMa3gQtSt0aYtdTRcPX%2FcllHuzEieii0%3D&reserved=0> calling on U.S. institutions of higher education to sustain the centrality of humanities and social sciences at this critical time.
