REGISTRATION: The last day to pre-register for the Convention is Oct. 16: http://www.aseees.org/convention/registration You can still purchase tickets<http://www.aseees.org/convention/registration#buffet> for the Saturday Evening Awards Buffet; tickets for this event are $45 each ($20 for students). After Oct. 16, you can register at the convention site at a higher fee.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS: We have sold 95% of our room block, but we still have a few rooms available over the nights of the convention. Please book your room right away if you haven't, we will sell out: http://www.aseees.org/convention/hotel. The cutoff date for reservations at our group rate is Oct 19. Zachary Baker (Stanford University Libraries) will present an overview of online resources relating to Eastern European Jewish Studies: Religion, History, Culture, Demography. The periods covered range from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, before the Partitions, to the post-Soviet era; the geographical scope encompasses the domains of Eastern Ashkenaz: Poland, the Baltics, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, and Hungary. Most of the resources covered have English-language home pages. This webinar is cosponsored by ASEEES and the Association for Jewish Studies.
