El proposito fundamental de la lista es mantener un vinculo de comunicacion y acercamiento entre todos los estudiantes y exalumnos latinos de Pitt. LatiNet es un foro plural, abierto a toda persona interesada en la cultura latina. LatiNet cuenta con una pagina electronica dentro en el World Wide Web. LatiNet and "LatiNet-owner" are not responsible nor liable in any way for messages, ideas, opinions, files or any other type of material posted on LatiNet Mailing List. 2. LatiNet is not a moderated mailing list. 3. Consider that a large audience will see your posts. Take care in what you write. 4. Remember that electronic mail take system resources. Forwarding messages from other electronic media, cross-posting messages, posting messages to point out other people's errors in typing or spelling, chain letters, or any other practice which will waste resources is prohibited. 5. Don't send large files to LatiNet when Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) or pointers to ftp-able versions will do. 6. Commercial Advertising is not allowed on LatiNet. 7. If you should find yourself in a disagreement with one person, make your responses to each other via private mail rather than continue to send messages to LatiNet. If you are debating a point on which the group might have some interest, you may summarize for them later. 8. Don't get involved in flame wars. Neither post nor respond to incendiary material. 9. LatiNet-owner will send a private warning e-mail to any member that doesn't follow this guidelines and Internet Netiquette Guidelines [RFC 1855]. If after a reasonable period the member is still having an improper conduct, latinet-owner keeps the right to unsubcribe the individual from LatiNet, at his/her own discretion. Using LatiNet
To post a message to all the list members, send email to latinet@list.pitt.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to LatiNet
Subscribe to LatiNet by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
