The Office of Academic Career Development is sponsoring a yearlong
Leadership Academy starting in January 2016 that will cover advanced management and leadership topics. If you’re interested in extending your skills in these areas, I urge you to consider participating. Information about the program can be found at

http://www.oacd.health.pitt.edu/category/program-type/health-sciences-leadership-academy. Although it is marketed this time for early career faculty, it is also appropriate for mid-career folks who are interested in developing transformative leadership
skills. John Porcari, an executive coach who works extensively with The Cleveland Clinic Physician’s Academy and Johns Hopkins Medical School, has been engaged to develop and present the core curriculum sessions- I’ve heard him twice before and he’s exceptional.
In addition to the three anchor sessions (two full days and one half day), participants will attend six monthly half-day sessions presented by outside experts focused on supporting topics that include teambuilding, conflict management, and negotiation.
