In case you're interested:

Registration and abstract submissions are open for this year's Women in Medicine Summit! A 2 day virtual CME conference perfect for leadership development, networking, and professional growth.

The 2021 virtual conference is being developed by a steering committee from across the country. Our speaker list this year includes lectures by Drs. Kimberly Manning, Helen Burstin, Lucy Kalanithi, Brandi Jackson, Brittani James, Vineet Arora, Julie Ann Freischlag, Nancy Spector, and many more nationally and internationally renowned faculty.

To give you a little history on how this event came about, Dr. Shikha Jain founded the Women in Medicine Summit in 2019, a national CME event held over the course of 2 days. Over 450 women in medicine attended in its inaugural year, with faculty from around the country. Since that time, the organization has grown and offers multiple other educational resources and programming. In 2020 due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic, the Summit was held virtually October 9-10. There were over 450 in attendance, and the Summit garnered over 45 million impressions on twitter in the 48 hours of programming.

During the two-day summit, a consensus driven agenda focuses on ways to close the gender gap in healthcare. Breakout sessions and presentations are led by diverse individuals from various specialties and institutions with a purpose of delivering evidence-based talks and tools and solutions to be utilized in working towards fixing the system and closing the gender gap across all specialties in medicine. We want to empower women in medicine with the tools they need to change the system at their home institutions and in their specialty specific organizations, and empower their male colleagues to be allies and champions for change.

Strong diversity equity and inclusion programming is a necessity, and the last year has shown how important it is to focus on this type of continuing education. We know that championing women will benefit all of us, and we would love to see you virtually at the conference and in person at the networking event.
