Our program would like to invite interested student pharmacists to learn more about the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Chicago, Illinois.

The NMH PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions.

<span class="x_hgkelc">Northwestern Memorial Hospital is an 894-bed academic medical center located in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Through a comprehensive team-based precepting model, pharmacy residents will learn to be confident practitioners with the expertise,

 professional judgment and values of an experienced clinician. <span style="color:black">

In addition to clinical responsibilities, residents will complete an individual research project, serve as a preceptor to both IPPE and APPE pharmacy students, and participate in two institutional committees as well as a longitudinal ambulatory care clinic.

 Alongside peers from nearby programs, residents also have the opportunity to participate in a teaching certificate through the University of Illinois at Chicago. Pharmacy residents often pursue additional leadership, research, and development opportunities

 through involvement in various Department of Pharmacy initiatives. Residency program graduates are eligible and well-prepared for</span></span> board certification and PGY2 pharmacy residency training.</p>

The NMH PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is ASHP-accredited and will be recruiting 9 traditional PGY1 resident positions for the 2021-2022 residency year. New this year, the program is offering 1 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) resident

 position to be completed over the course of 2 years. NMH also offers 2 non-traditional PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program positions that are completed over a 2 year period.
