Greetings, fellow Student Pharmacists!

The Ronald McDonald House out of Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh has a program in which they collect metal pop tabs from aluminum cans of all sorts – soft drinks, beans, veggies, soup, pet food, etc. These tabs are exchanged for cash in weight and this money is in turn used to directly support families providing funds for housing, food, prescriptions, and transportation all to keep families near the medical care their children need. The program averages around $6,000 annually for the mission! See link for more information:

Through Phi Lambda Sigma, we work with the Ronald McDonald House to support the mission as well as our community, but during this time, it is harder to support these families directly in-person. Thus, we are asking each and every PittPharmacy student, faculty, and affiliate to begin collecting tabs. This is a simple, passive way to support in-need children and their families without making any change to your daily life!

All you have to do for now is collect at home. For the week of November 9-13, there will be a drop-off organized with Student Services, so stay tuned (and an alternative contactless pick-up can be arranged for those that need when the time comes).
