Hello everyone,

My name is Kamakshi Rao, and I am an Assistant Director of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I hope you are well and remaining safe during this truly unprecedented time. I am reaching out on behalf of our medical center to share information about our pharmacy residency programs, with the hope that you can pass this message along to your graduating pharmacy students this year. We know students are having to adapt to significant changes in the residency and post-graduate search process, with the shift to virtual recruitment and interviews. While we love meeting so many students and potential candidates at venues like our regional and national residency showcases, we know this year necessarily looks different. Given that, we wanted to be sure students could still connect with us, learn about our programs, and find the best opportunities to meet our program representatives.

UNC Medical Center has offered post-graduate residency training programs for well over 50 years. We are incredibly proud of our rich history, but also of the commitment to continuous innovation to keep our programs current and strong. Our programs center around our core tenets of practice advancement, education, research, and leadership, while supporting an environment that forges strong connections and promotes well-being. As we have grown in scope and numbers, our commitment to each individual resident’s journey has not wavered. We are excited to meet with another year of pharmacy graduates, and to introduce them to the #pharmacytarheel spirit that exists in our current residents, preceptors, leaders, and alumni.

We welcome potential candidates to learn more about the environment of our residency through this VIDEO<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fht.t.hubspotemail.net%2Fe2t%2Ftc%2FVVsGV34RQvTCW1C3wXG2XkQMcW3cF4jk4hKmkTN2sc1xt3lGmwV1-WJV7CgFl1Vt38fk54YhhRW8GDvM94Mj-KmW8bH7fz6-4tzBW4PVphn1_9h_-N5mnP7Lf0n-vW3J10kP5DRHBGW4nDc387cn2WKW8k1C_P3FZDzsN2DyL-9pT4y0W2pKCfX62KXNlW7fL5bC3FqRxWW4CLR1P56yYxRF5FzSmYvkLqW7ChRb26PT-9cW5l9l8G1FchpWW7mgmcl8TlDdJW68t7th3jRXPcW6NJJ6S4rBdYdN1mnS5Rb51pNW84jtF52dc9lz3czk1&data=04%7C01%7Cborrelli%40pitt.edu%7Cd5345ee9b142496ee8b708d87b7bca44%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637395118889111533%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=MQhIjjHjPCc0BkxOJMNIGo%2FUNpDmjC1IvXPRngGltPw%3D&reserved=0>.

In a year such as this one, we know it can be challenging to get a strong feel for programs without physical, face-to-face interactions. We are committed to finding new and innovative ways to bridge that gap, to connect with as many potential candidates as possible, and to find the next class of #pharmacytarheels to join our program for the 2021-22 academic year! Thank you in advance for sharing this with your students. If I can be of further assistance, please reach out to me at the email listed below!

Sincerely,
