[Rx2021] Weekly Report 3/23

Hi everyone,

I am going to do my best to make weekly expectations as clear as possible for everyone, if anyone has suggestions, please feel free to let me know. At the moment my plan is to continue with weekly reports, and then post a breakdown of what Zoom sessions to expect during the week. As always, please let me know if I miss anything. The grids are no longer relevant for the rest of the semester, so everyone will have to rely on the info from blackboard to figure out what expectations are.

Shout out to Andrew H. for taking some dope notes on the Convo with the Dean 😉

Dr. McGivney sent me the following to share with the class about advocating for pharmacist provider status during this time:

APhA joined<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmessaging.aphanet.org%2Fc%2F1Lp6WNlBfINGjZC9PclQGEyu8e&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cb0ac72d3181541f3bd0f08d7cd202a49%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637203410338935326&sdata=qVEq%2FbzIE%2BmzK6uY9yD1Gy1dZiWxFdSHZmyo6UgO%2BOA%3D&reserved=0> with several pharmacy partners today to send this letter<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmessaging.aphanet.org%2Fc%2F1Lp6Xveo3sQuODolVHDaxDjf7N&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cb0ac72d3181541f3bd0f08d7cd202a49%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637203410338935326&sdata=evkeerk9N0e38oopCDMtGf8f43c3Wwo9LW4q7ckTJEI%3D&reserved=0> to Capitol Hill. But now it’s your turn to let them know how important you are to your patients. Please contact your Member of Congress and U.S. Senators immediately and urge their support of inclusion of language to recognize pharmacists and their services in Medicare Part B – also known as “provider status”.

Your federal representatives are expected to vote on the legislation VERY soon. We need you to take immediate action<https://nam05.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fmessaging.aphanet.org%2Fc%2F1Lp6Yd7aRcTjjhay2cUuoC407m&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cb0ac72d3181541f3bd0f08d7cd202a49%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637203410338935326&sdata=lYPfl2hwmAq1cLknHAMbzj4y35tGHe97prD7D2leYZk%3D&reserved=0>.

You can also personalize the message by editing the content to share a relevant personal experience related to pharmacists’ care and service if you wish. Legislators value real life examples of the important care you provide. Remember to be polite and include your name and the city of your residence or pharmacy practice. Thank you.
