[Rx2021] PittPharmacy Calendar for Fall Term

Changes in the University of Pittsburgh’s Fall 2020 academic calendar have been made for safety reasons related to COVID-19. The University of Pittsburgh and PittPharmacy will be following all CDC, regional and local guidelines for social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment.
Read carefully!  The fall term calendar differs for each of the School of Pharmacy’s degree programs—and years of the PharmD Program.

Fall 2020 Academic Calendar

·         Residence Halls open on August 13.

·         Classes will be held on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2020.

·         Students will not be excused from classes or exams on Monday or Tuesday, November 23 or 24.

·         Sessions/exams after Thanksgiving will be conducted remotely as students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break. Guidelines may differ for students conducting research.

·         The calendar differs for PittPharmacy students by program and class.

·         We anticipate new information to come our periodically, so read your emails carefully!
P1 PharmD Students

·         Orientation for P1 students will be on Monday and Tuesday, August 17 and 18, 2020.

·         Classes will begin on Aug. 19 with onsite classes/exams ending on Tuesday, November 24.

·         Classes will be held on LABOR DAY, September 7.

·         Students will not be excused from classes or exams on Monday or Tuesday, November 23 or 24.

·         Sessions/exams after Thanksgiving will be conducted remotely as students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break.

·         The last day of fall semester is Saturday, December 5, 2020.
P2 PharmD Students

·         Classes will begin on Aug. 19 with onsite classes/exams ending on Tuesday, November 24.

·         Classes will be held on LABOR DAY, September 7.

·         Students will not be excused from classes or exams on Monday or Tuesday, November 23 or 24.

·         Sessions/exams after Thanksgiving will be conducted remotely as students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break.

·         The last day of fall semester is Saturday, December 5, 2020.
P3 PharmD Students

·         P3 students scheduled for IPPE will have IPPE as planned in August.

·         Classes will begin on August 24 with onsite classes/exams ending on November 24.

·         Classes will be held on LABOR DAY, September 7.

·         Students will not be excused from classes/exams on Monday or Tuesday, November 23 or 24.

·         Sessions/exams after Thanksgiving will be conducted remotely as students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break.

·         The last day of fall semester is Saturday, December 12, 2020.
P4 PharmD Students

·         P4 students will continue with APPEs.  Any changes will be communicated by members of the Experiential Learning Office.
MS/PhD students

·         Classes will begin on Aug. 19 with onsite classes/exams ending on Tuesday, November 24.

·         Classes will be held on LABOR DAY, September 7.

·         Learning/testing options for students not able to be on campus will be made.

·         All sessions/exams after Thanksgiving will be conducted remotely as students will not return to campus after Thanksgiving break.

·         The last day of fall semester is Saturday, December 5, 2020.

·         Bench and computational research may be continued if appropriate with guidance from faculty in accordance to University and regional guidelines.
MPBA Students

·         MPBA students will have classes as scheduled.  Any changes will be communicated by the Director of the Master’s of Pharmacy Business Administration program.
