Hello all!

Each year, APhA hosts an Institute on Alcoholism and Drug Dependencies to increase awareness of the health and social problems of alcoholism and other drug dependencies. The fifth annual APhA Institute will be held from May 29-June 2, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Pitt APhA-ASP chapter is fortunate to be able to provide 2 student scholarships to attend the conference each year. We will be holding our annual essay contest judged by our faculty advisors to select our winners. The top applicant will receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend the conference and a second applicant will receive a $600 scholarship. All other students that apply will be given the opportunity to be placed on the wait list to attend the conference. You must be an APhA member to apply.

Please submit your essay in a Word Document to the pitt.aphaasp.eboard at gmail.com<mailto:pitt.aphaasp.eboard at gmail.com> to participate in the essay contest! The essay word limit is 500 words and should address what you will get out of the conference and why you should be selected to attend. The deadline to email your essay is Friday, February 1st, 2019 at 11:59pm. We will then select the 2 students who will be attending and receiving reimbursement (by February 4). The top two applicants will be notified by nationals by February 18th if you are selected. Any individuals who wish to be put on the wait list will be notified by April 5th if they are selected to attend.
