CASPER Opioids Survey Volunteers Needed!

Sunday, July 1st

12:30 – 4:00pm

Meeting location: Mt. Oliver Fire Department 120 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210

The Allegheny County Health Department and the Medical Reserve Corps are in need of volunteer surveyors for one last day of CASPER surveying on Sunday, July 1st. CASPER or Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response is a door-to-door survey method that is being used in South Pittsburgh and Mount Oliver to assess opioid overdose awareness. We are looking for at least 20 volunteers. We are in the home stretch and really need extra volunteers to reach our goal number of responses! As part of this survey, we are distributing Naloxone to get this important drug to those in need. This effort has been very successful thus far!

Volunteers will survey in pairs and will leave behind informational resources about prevention, overdose response, and treatment.

Please email Lauren Orkis (lauren.orkis at alleghenycounty.us<mailto:lauren.orkis at alleghenycounty.us>) to RSVP. Training for new volunteers will be provided on Sunday. New volunteers will be paired with trained volunteers who surveyed last weekend. Volunteers should be 18 years and older. All volunteers should meet at the Mt. Oliver Fire Dept at 12:30pm. Volunteers may park on the street or in the Dollar Tree/Magee lot behind the Fire Dept. Please forward this email to any other interested volunteers!
