CVS is offering a wonderful opportunity for current P1 and P2 students who are interested in a Spanish Immersion Internship this summer. Note that Spanish fluency is not required for the experience.

I wanted to introduce you to an exciting new internship opportunity we have developed for this coming summer. It is a paid Spanish Immersion Internship that is 10 weeks long, and it is available in various cities. Please see below for those markets and a brief description of the internship. You may be aware that the Hispanic population is growing at an incredible amount throughout the United States. CVS Health is proud to be able to provide an experience for students in specific Hispanic dominant stores/markets where they can learn about specific disease states those patients may have, be exposed to medical terminology in Spanish, and counsel patients. Fluency in Spanish is not mandatory for interns to apply.

CVS Health Retail Spanish Immersion Internships
Pharmacy Interns* – Are you interested in expanding your knowledge and experience within CVS Health’s dynamic organization? We are currently seeking P1 (Grad Year – 2021) and P2 (Grad Year – 2020) Pharmacy Interns interested in pharmacy-based positions within our 2018 Summer Retail Spanish Immersion Internship from June 4th- through August 10th, 2018.

Key Dates
* Application period: Now – February 16, 2018
* Pharmacy applicant video screens: February – March 2018
* Intern selections finalized: April 1, 2018
* Internship period: June 4th- August 10th, 2018

Highlights of the Retail Spanish Immersion Internship:
· Participate in the care of patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions, focusing on the Hispanic community and utilizing the Spanish language
· Application of therapeutic principles, communication skills (including Spanish), and drug information skills are emphasized on a daily basis through interaction with patients and other health care professionals
· Immersion with the Hispanic community and related disease states associated with those patients
· Complete appropriate Phase training of the CVS Health Internship training program, ExperienceRx, to fulfill the Interns’ training, in addition to the Spanish/Hispanic experience
· Fluency in Spanish is not mandatory to apply. Spanish courses previously taken in high school and/or college, or prior participation in mission trips to Spanish speaking countries may provide a baseline knowledge for program participation
· *This is a summer internship with continued year-round employment with flexible hours
· Internship held from June 4th- through August 10th, 2018.
· In order to properly prepare you for this internship, you will be hired and begin to work and train at a CVS Pharmacy local to your current location prior to May 1, 2018
