[Rx2021] PLS Application Invitation Email

Dear Student Pharmacists,

The Beta Delta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy would like to cordially invite you to apply for membership of our organization. Information regarding the application process and deadlines are below.

The PowerPoint presentation from our Application Information Session and this application link are also available on the PoRxtal in the PLS page under Student Organizations.

The application is due the week back from winter break on Friday, January 12th at 11:59 pm.

Students will need to provide:

  *   Résumé or CV
  *   Two 200-word essays (prompts in the link)
  *   Professional Photo
  *   Sponsor (Sponsor must be a current PLS member; full list of members can be found on the Application Information Session PowerPoint on the Porxtal. Please obtain sponsor’s consent before submitting application.)
  *   Optional letter of recommendation from faculty member (Must directly submit to philambdasigma at gmail.com<mailto:philambdasigma at gmail.com>)

Applicants will be asked to come in for a 10-minute interview:

  *   P1 and P3 students will interview on Wednesday January 17th 5-7 pm.
  *   P2 students will interview on Wednesday January 24th 5-7 pm.
  *   Specific times will be assigned once the application is closed.

Applicants will be notified of their membership status in February.

Phi Lambda Sigma is the national honorary pharmacy leadership society within the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Membership is application-based and is weighed on leadership ability, professionalism, level of involvement, and peer recognition.
