Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists: National Competition
Pitt Internal Deadline:                             September 26, 2015

The Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists competition celebrates America's most innovative young faculty-rank scientists and engineers. The awards recognize high impact and innovative accomplishments in the life sciences, physical sciences & engineering, and chemistry, with three winners each awarded $250,000 in unrestricted funds.
The University of Pittsburgh has been invited to nominate one outstanding young faculty member in each of three disciplinary categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemistry.
The Blavatnik Family Foundation requires that an applicant:
* Has been born in or after 1975.
* Holds a doctorate degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DDS, DVM, etc.).
* Currently holds a faculty position at an invited institution in the United States.
* Currently conducts research as a principal investigator in one of the disciplinary categories in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, or Chemistry.
To be considered as a nominee from the University of Pittsburgh please submit the following application materials to the University's Competition Space portal, http://upitt.infoready4.com/ :

1. A brief, 200-word statement explaining your record of significant independent scientific contributions, early career success, and promise of sustained or accelerated progress in the future.
2. A current Curriculum Vitae
