<p class="MsoNormal">Account activation is a two-step process. The first step is completed by the Office of Research, and the second step is completed by Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA).

<p class="MsoNormal">Once an award is finalized in MyFunding, it is placed in an <span style="color:#0070C0">
“</span><a href="https://electronicresearch.pitt.edu/glossary-of-terms/">Active”</a> state by the Specialist in the Office of Research (OR) and released to Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA), so that an account number can be assigned to the award.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">When SPA assigns the account number to the award, the below notification is generated by MyFunding to provide the account number assigned by SPA.<o:p></o:p></p>
