[Peris-listserv] Completing the PI Certification in MyFunding

PI Certification is the only component of a funding proposal that must be completed by a Principal Investigator (PI).  Funding proposals cannot be submitted to a sponsor without a completed PI Certification and are required to be completed in addition to the funding proposal at least four (4) business days prior to the sponsor deadline.

Once all of the proposal documents have been finalized and uploaded into the funding proposal in MyFunding, the Department Administrator should execute one of these two activities to trigger the PI Certification for the PI:


  1.  For funding proposals being submitted "System-to-System<http://electronicresearch.pitt.edu/wp-content/uploads/MyFunding-Glossary-of-Terms.pdf>" (i.e. via grants.gov) within MyFunding, the activity 'Update SF424 Research Plan' should be used:

After all of the proposal documents (including research plan and attachments) are uploaded into MyFunding, Question 14 should be marked as "yes" (as seen below):

OR

  1.  For funding proposals being submitted as "Other Submitted by Office of Research" (ex: NSF FastLane) or "Other Submitted by Department<http://electronicresearch.pitt.edu/wp-content/uploads/MyFunding-Glossary-of-Terms.pdf>" (ex. Pitt as a subrecipient to another university) within MyFunding, the activity "Submit Proposal Documents" should be used:

After all of the proposal documents (including research plan and attachments) are uploaded into MyFunding, Question 2 should be marked "yes" (as seen below):

Performing either of these activities will trigger the PI Certification notification to the Principal Investigator (as seen below).

The link provided in the notification will take the PI into the funding proposal workspace where he/she will complete the PI Certification by clicking on the "Submit PI Certification" activity (as seen below):
