<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in;background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#312F30">Linda Manning, of Northern Illinois University Press, will teach attendees how to prepare for submitting a proposal—and eventually a manuscript—to an
academic publisher. Topics covered will include seeking out publishers, making contact, submitting a proposal, and an overview of the publishing process. There will be some specific guidance provided for publishing a revised dissertation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:.5in;background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:#312F30">The ASEEES Board of Directors has dedicated $10,000 per year from the Association's endowment dividends for subvention of books by first-time authors
who have already secured publishing contracts. Multiple awards of up to $2,500 will be made on a competitive basis each year, with funds paid directly to the press. We encourage ASEEES members to work with their publishers to submit applications. The next
deadline is<b> February 1. <o:p></o:p></b></span></p>
