It is our hope and intention to host an in-person convention in New Orleans. We are also exploring the possibility of hosting a smaller virtual convention for those who cannot or choose not to attend in-person, the exact dates of which have not been determined. In the proposal submission process, you will be presented with an option to indicate your preference regarding in-person or virtual convention. Your selection will not commit you to in-person or virtual options; your selection also will not be part of the consideration in the proposal review process. ASEEES will be carefully monitoring best practices and will make adjustments as necessary to ensure the health and well-being of our attendees.

This program provides MA, PhD, and professional school students and recent graduates with grants that make it possible for them to accept unpaid or underpaid internships in areas directly related to Russian studies. The program promotes the entry of young scholars with considerable Russian studies expertise into sectors outside of traditional academia. These internships must be in the US and should be substantial in duration and responsibilities, lasting two months for summer internships and four months for internships during a semester in the regular academic year. The grant offers $2,000 a month, to be paid directly to the grantee during their internship.

The prize is intended to recognize diverse contributions across the Slavic, East European, and Eurasian studies field.
