Susan,
First, let me introduce Trevor Erlachler, who is the new NewsNet editor (I'll still handle the layout of the newsletter, as well as blog and social media posts while Trevor will work with authors to develop content.) We would love to have contributions from the DH Slavic group; however, I think it may be a better use of space if you talk about DH panels at the convention via an Affiliate Group News blurb in the October issue. And then, for your articles, talk about colleagues' specific projects or novel uses for Slavic DH resources/tools.
Articles can be up to 1500 words, fewer if you'd like to include more than 2-3 graphics.
While I have you "on the line" would you and your colleagues be interested in retooling the roundtable you did as a webinar?
Please let me know what questions you have.
Mary

Dear Lynda,
Thank you very much for these positive answers! I shared the information with the other SlavicDH officers this morning and they were also very happy to hear the results.
We are currently regrouping to talk with our various contacts. We may indeed be able to raise the money for a booth. Margaret, I will be in touch with you about that in the future. What is the deadline for the booth?
Mary, we have two ideas for the March and June issues if you will allow us the space. For March we would like to highlight the activities we did at ASEEES 2018 and then for another issue, maybe not June but before the next conference, we would like to highlight our per-conference event and panels we will be organizing. If these ideas sound good to you, or if you want something else, please let me know. Could you also please give me an idea of what length you are looking for?
Best,
Susan

Dear Susan,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I will have Margaret respond about the exhibit hall. The booth runs around $675. But if we don't sell a booth, we may be able to give you a booth. It is way too early for us to know. I don't think we will have a conference meeting room for a drop-in. We have a much smaller number of rooms than in Boston or Chicago. But again, we will need to wait and see.
We would be happy to highlight DH in NewsNet, but we couldn't guarantee a DH corner in every issue. But we would be happy to publish something in March issue! The deadline for that is Feb 1 or so. Or we could put in an article in the June issue, with the deadline of May 5 or so. I'll have Mary get back to you re the deadlines.
If you have other questions, feel free to give me a call (412) 648-9788.
Best,
Lynda

Dear Lynda,
I am writing on behalf of the officers of SlavicDH. We are gearing up to prepare panels and events for ASEEES 2019, and we have a few questions for you. We have our next officer meeting this upcoming Saturday on Skype, so I'm hoping I can relay some information to them. I'm happy to meet you in person if you would prefer to discuss any of these issues in depth/if it is easier than via email.
Our first question concerns space in the exhibition hall. How much does a space there cost? We were hoping to do something along the lines of Digital Drop-In, which happens at AHA. Essentially, we want to have a space where we can have some of our members have brief consultations with people looking for DH help or ideas on how to start at DH project.
AHA does their digital drop in during a panel slot in a conference room.
I suppose we could also do it that way if that is easier for organization of the conference. An opportunity like this would benefit both SlavicDH and ASEEES as a whole.
Second, what is the possibility of having a DH section in NewsNet? If possible, we would like to discuss having a reoccurring section for Slavic DH projects, tools, methods, resources, etc. that is similar to the Member Spotlight. Essentially we want a small space to promote various DH tools and methods in the field.
Please let me know what you think of these two topics.
Best,
Susan
