Students are now able to apply for Davis Travel Grants and for the Tucker/Cohen Prize.  Additionally, ASEEES is looking for a Graduate Student Representative on the Board of Directors in 2012-13.  Directions for self-nomination or for nomination by an ASEEES member are below.  Also, ASEEES is seeking nominations for its Distinguished Contribution Award, as well as for its various book prizes.  

DAVIS STUDENT TRAVEL GRANTS

The Davis Graduate Student Travel Grant is a merit- and need-based open competition. This one-time award funds travel for graduate students presenting papers at the 2011 ASEEES Convention, which will be held in Washington, DC.  Please see the web link for eligibility requirements and application procedures.  


CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR GRAD STUDENT REP ON ASEEES BOARD OF DIRECTORS, 2012-2013 http://www.aseees.org/new/cfn-studentrep.php
ASEEES invites graduate students or their advisors to submit nominations for the position of Graduate Student Representative on the ASEEES Board of Directors. The Graduate Student Representative is a voting member of the Board of Directors, elected to serve a two-year term of 2012-2013.
     

TUCKER/COHEN PRIZE

The Robert C. Tucker/Stephen F. Cohen prize, sponsored by the JKW Foundation, is awarded annually (if there is a distinguished submission) for an outstanding English-language doctoral dissertation defended at an American or Canadian university in the tradition of historical political science and political history of Russia or the Soviet Union as practiced by Robert C. Tucker and Stephen F. Cohen.
     

ALSO ASEEES SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR DISTINGUISHED CONTRIBUTIONS TO SLAVIC, EAST EUROPEAN, AND EURASIAN STUDIES AWARD

Deadline:	May 1, 2011 	
The Association's Distinguished Contributions to Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies Award honors senior scholars who have helped to build and develop the field through scholarship, training, and service to the profession.
The Nomination Process is the following:
	1. Committee members accept nominations in writing or via email from any member of ASEEES.  Nominations should be sent directly to the Committee Chair.
	2. Self -nominations are not accepted.
	3. Committee members survey the field for possible awardees and confer together regarding the final selection.
