1. New name, location, staff, and website address
As of July 1, the office of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (formerly AAASS) is located at the University of Pittsburgh. Following the membership vote and bylaw changes, the AAASS is now ASEEES. The new name legally took effect as of July 8.
Please bookmark the new web address - www.aseees.org<http://www.aseees.org>. We are still working on migrating the members site to Pittsburgh. We hope to have the site up and running shortly.

2. ASEEES Logo Contest
Same great association, new name and logo . . . We need a new logo for our new public face!
Design the winning logo and receive a free association membership for one year. The new logo will replace the current logo and will appear on stationery, webpages, business cards, and official publications of ASEEES. For more information see http://www.aseees.org/#logo

The preliminary Convention program (in PDF) can be viewed on our website at: http://www.aseees.org/convention/2010-preprogram.pdf
Pre-register for the Convention by August 16 and pay a lower registration fee. All panel participants MUST pre-register and pay the registration fee by September 30, to have their names included in the Convention Program Index of Participants. Pre-registration closes on October 8, after which you must pay on-site at the convention.
We hope to have the members website up and running shortly for registration. If you wish to pay by check or credit card in the interim please download a registration form <http://www.aseees.org/convention/2010preregistration.pdf> and mail it with check or credit card info to:

The mailing of the May/June issue of the NewsNet was delayed due to the Association's relocation and other related US Postal Service requirements due to the relocation.
